What are the different types of candles you can make?

Feeling crafty today? You want to start making your own candles? Well, there are a couple of things you need to know before starting with your DIY candle kit.

Making candles is fun, and we love it here at Frændi candles. But you also have to know what kind of candles you would like to make.

What? So, there are different ways to make a candle? Yes, there are!

What are the different forms you can use to make a candle?

Pillar candles Pillar candle They can stand up on their own without a container. Paraffin, beeswax and palm wax.
Container candles Container candle They are candles that sit inside of a container (glass jar, metal tin …). Soy wax, soy/paraffin blends, paraffin, palm wax, and beeswax.
Votive candles

These candles are very small and made to sit in small glass containers. Soy wax, palm wax, beeswax, wax blends, and paraffin.
Tealight Candles

They are small candles designed to sit inside a small, cylindrical metal or clear plastic container.

Taper Candles

These are candles which are long, narrow and sit in candlesticks. Paraffin and beeswax.
Gel candles

These candles are soft, gelatin-like. You sit them inside a container. Mineral-oil based gel (no wax).
